Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

Saving Your Tooth, Saving Your Smile!

When dental decay reaches the innermost portion of a tooth, known as the pulp, it can lead to severe pain and potential tooth loss. That’s where Root Canal Treatment (RCT) comes to the rescue. RCT involves the removal of the damaged pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels, from both the crown and the root of the tooth. This procedure is a tooth-saving grace and can typically be completed in 2-3 appointments. In some selective cases, we offer the convenience of Single Visit RCT.

  • Why You May Need Root Canal treatment?

Root Canal Treatment is recommended when:

– Dental decay has penetrated deep into the pulp of the tooth.

– A tooth is severely damaged, cracked, or fractured.

– There is an infection or abscess inside the tooth.

  • The RCT Process: It involves then following steps:
  1. Thorough Examination: We begin with a comprehensive examination and X-rays to assess the extent of the damage and plan the treatment.
  2. Cavity cleaning & Pulp Removal: A damaged pulp and thoroughly clean the inside of the tooth to eliminate infection or decay.
  3. Cleaning & Shaping of canals: Length of root canals is determined with specialised equipment and dental xrays and canals are cleaned till that length with fine instruments and shaped to receive the artificial root canal filling material.

Sealing and Restoration: Once cleaned, we seal the space and restore the tooth’s function and appearance. For molars and extensively damaged teeth, we recommend placing a protective crown (cap) to ensure long-term strength and functionality.
